Second Breakfast

Patti and I found this table. I don't really need it or have much space but I am defs a fan of it's shape and its in pretty good condish so, why not walk it 2 blocks away to a new home? I drew and cut out a stencil and painted it wallpaper style onto the top. I plan to paint the legs to finish it off and possibly gloss it? we'll see. The pattern is an attempt at baroque flowers but looks more like fancily cut paper snowflakes. Originally I wanted the pattern to be subtle . . . in a sort of cream color on the white maybe? but instead of mixing white paint with brown I used yellow. The coloring was all uneven and bugging the heck out of me and only looked good when I crouched down with the surface being eye level. Solution: outline with a darker color, which ended up being green. The result (so far): Tea Time*!!

You Just Got Bonged

Last night's 40 ounces to freedom left me feeling a little less than fantastic today. Tack on 24 hours worth of A&F in 4 days and i'm pretty spent for the weekend. I came in late, unknowingly, and then left 3 hours early. Oops! But I guess I needed it. While trying to flush the rest of that (bad decision) Steel Reserve out of my system I slept and spent my evening watching an actually really awesome set of television. A lot, yes. But pretty decent for a Sunday night!

What was I thinkin' when I let you back in?

Shave Your Face With Some Mace In The Dark

Unfortunately my digital camera has
a: been dropped
b: is a 5 mp faux dslr
c: is 5 years old now (wow! didn't realize it)

It does have impressive zoom, but none of that is even relevant anyway because I can't find it. . .
I've been lusting for an Olympus with underwater capabilities, meaning one from he Stylus line. They've gotten down to 250 bucks, about 100 more than I'd like to spend and 50 over my overflow of 50 dollars I expect myself to overextend. Also, their megapixability is a little low. Part of me says don't settle for less than 12 but is a slightly lower quality overshadowed by the water capabilites? I doubt I would really use it much but it could be cool to do some sort of exposition in the rain. Salty ocean water seems like it may be some sort of loophole also in the abilities of the camera, at least I feel like it should be. How can a camera survive? I guess it has to shower off after a swim too =]

Sony makes an extremely attractive slide-front that is both over my budget and doesn't go underwater but everyone I know with slide-fronts aka Liz and Katty Pants have always taken really fantastic photos. It has a touch screen on the back which might be too fancy for me. I dont know if I will even enjoy breaking out of film again AND lacking a single eye viewfinder . . . let alone having a touch screen for all the previewing and setting of "flower" mode.

It's a little odd that on my blog titled after my 35mm that I LOVE that one of my first posts would be about getting a digi but for the purposes of this space I think it might be necessary. I'm hoping to start keeping track of creative interesting lifestyle trends. or some shit like that; photography I take as art, and documentation (where digi comes in) of things like: crafts I make, places I go, items i purchase, food I taste, food I make, music I hear, etc. we'll see how it goes!. This is hopefully the beginning of an epic journey of fabulousness that will mean something to someone. Maybe me!

Westfield

Working in a Westfield mall is one of the best and worst things I could ever do to myself. This is a common conflict in my life in general, like going to Catholic school for 13 years even though I never really ended up believing in much of it.

Anyway, I hope James St. James is right and that "the road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom."

Abercrombie and Fitch, bitch!
Such a strange employer. But the front of our San Francisco Centre store is featured on CocoPerez! It's an oldie though, don't recognize the bags. But I sure know that rug out front!
